Jojoba Oil (Simmondsia chinensis)

Jojoba oil combines readily with any essential or carrier oil, aiding their penetration into the skin. It is a balancing oil, good for treating acne and oily skin as well as dehydrated skin. It is anti-inflammatory and an excellent eczema and psoriasis treatment.

Jojoba's secret is that it is a liquid wax as opposed to an oil and is very similar in composition to human oil secretions. As such, it is readily absorbed into the skin, is edible and is nontoxic and nonirritating. It is one of the best skin conditioners known to man. These qualities combine to make Jojoba oil an ideal base oil for massage and facial oils.
