Fennel essential oil is steam distilled from the crushed seeds of Foeniculum vulgare, sourced from Hungary. It has a sweet, warm, anise-like herbaceous aroma, naturally rich in trans-anethole, and sits as a middle note with a distinctive sweetness.
Its warm, uplifting aroma is traditionally associated in aromatherapy with confidence and mental clarity during busy, stressful times, and it adds a sweet, spicy depth to blends with citrus, herbs and florals. It is a skin sensitiser with estrogen-like activity, so avoid it in pregnancy, breastfeeding, with children, epilepsy or hormone-sensitive conditions.

Uses
- Diffuser or vaporiserAdd 2–3 drops to your diffuser or oil burner with water, blended with citrus or lavender for a sweet, warm room aroma.
- BathMix 2–3 drops into a tablespoon of carrier oil or unscented bath base first, then add it to a warm bath. Never add undiluted essential oil to bath water.
- Massage and aromatherapyIf you use it in massage, aromatherapy or other skin applications, always dilute it in a carrier oil at around 1%, roughly 6 drops per 30ml. Patch test first.

Safety & storage
- For external use only. Do not take internally. If swallowed, do not induce vomiting and seek medical advice.
- Never apply undiluted to the skin. Always dilute in a carrier oil.
- Fennel is a skin irritant and sensitiser. Patch test the diluted blend on a small area for 24 hours before full use.
- Keep away from eyes and mucous membranes. Do not use on broken or irritated skin.
- Avoid during pregnancy and breastfeeding, with babies and children, and if you have epilepsy or a hormone-sensitive condition, as fennel has estrogen-like activity.
- Flammable. Keep away from heat and open flame. Keep out of reach of children and pets.
Storage: Store tightly capped in the original dark glass bottle, away from heat and direct sunlight.
