Juniper Berry essential oil is steam distilled from the ripe berries of Juniperus communis, sourced from India. It has a fresh, sweet, crisp woody aroma with warm, spicy, forest-like undertones, and sits as a middle note.
Its clean, refreshing aroma is traditionally associated in aromatherapy with easing nervous tension and mental fatigue, and it is popular for creating a refreshed, balanced atmosphere at home. It blends well with citrus, conifers and herbs. It is a skin irritant and sensitiser and should be avoided during pregnancy or with a kidney condition.

Uses
- Diffuser or vaporiserAdd 3–5 drops to your diffuser or oil burner with water for a fresh, woody room aroma, on its own or blended with grapefruit or cypress.
- BathMix 2–3 drops into a tablespoon of carrier oil or unscented bath base first, then add it to a warm bath. Never add undiluted essential oil to bath water.
- Massage and aromatherapyIf you use it in massage, aromatherapy or other skin applications, always dilute it in a carrier oil at around 1–2%, roughly 6–12 drops per 30ml. Patch test first.

Safety & storage
- For external use only. Do not take internally. If swallowed, do not induce vomiting and seek medical advice.
- Never apply undiluted to the skin. Always dilute in a carrier oil.
- Juniper berry is a skin and eye irritant and sensitiser. Patch test the diluted blend on a small area for 24 hours before full use.
- Keep away from eyes and mucous membranes. Do not use on broken or irritated skin.
- Avoid during pregnancy and breastfeeding, and if you have a kidney condition. Not recommended for babies and young children unless advised by a qualified practitioner.
- Combustible. Keep away from heat and open flame. Keep out of reach of children and pets.
Storage: Store tightly capped in the original dark glass bottle, away from heat and direct sunlight.
