Kānuka essential oil is steam distilled from the leaves of Kunzea ericoides, a treasured New Zealand native, sourced from the Coromandel. It has a fresh, gentle, pleasant aroma with a soft herbaceous character, and is a light, clean top note.
Traditionally used by Māori, kānuka is valued in aromatherapy for its calming, grounding character, and it is popular diffused for a fresh, relaxed atmosphere at home. It pairs well with woods, citrus and other fresh, green oils. It is a skin irritant and sensitiser, so dilute before use, patch test first, and never swallow it.

Uses
- Diffuser or vaporiserAdd 3–5 drops to your diffuser or oil burner with water for a fresh, calming room aroma, on its own or blended with lavender or lemon.
- BathMix 2–3 drops into a tablespoon of carrier oil or unscented bath base first, then add it to a warm bath. Never add undiluted essential oil to bath water.
- Massage and aromatherapyIf you use it in massage, aromatherapy or other skin applications, always dilute it in a carrier oil at around 1–2%, roughly 6–12 drops per 30ml. Patch test first.

Safety & storage
- For external use only. Never swallow. May be fatal if swallowed and enters the airways; if swallowed, do not induce vomiting and seek medical advice.
- Never apply undiluted to the skin. Always dilute in a carrier oil.
- Kānuka is a skin irritant and sensitiser. Patch test the diluted blend on a small area for 24 hours before full use.
- Keep away from eyes and mucous membranes. Do not use on broken or irritated skin.
- Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or for babies and young children, unless advised by a qualified practitioner.
- Flammable. Keep away from heat and open flame. Keep out of reach of children and pets.
Storage: Store tightly capped in the original dark glass bottle, away from heat and direct sunlight.
