Our Refined Shea Butter is expeller pressed from the seeds of the African karite tree, grown in Burkina Faso, and then refined in France. Refining gives a soft, white, creamy butter with very little scent, so it suits anyone who prefers an unscented feel or wants to add their own essential oils.
Shea butter is one of the best loved natural moisturisers for skin and hair. It melts close to skin temperature and smooths on easily, leaving dry skin feeling soft, supple and comfortable. Use it on its own as a rich body butter, smooth a little onto dry hands, elbows and heels, or warm a fingertip through dry hair ends.

Uses
- On its ownWarm a small amount between your palms until it softens, then smooth over dry areas such as hands, elbows, knees and heels.
- Whipped body butterMelt gently with an equal amount of sweet almond or avocado oil, let it cool until it starts to set, then whip until light and fluffy.
- Lips and hairAdd to a homemade lip balm with beeswax and oil, or rub a tiny amount through dry hair ends for softness and shine.

Safety & storage
- Shea is a tree nut-derived ingredient. If you have a tree nut allergy, check with your doctor before use.
- For external use only. Do not swallow.
- Patch test on a small area of skin before first use, and stop using it if irritation occurs.
- Keep away from the eyes and out of reach of children and pets.
- Melted shea butter is hot and can burn. Melt gently in a double boiler, never over a direct flame, and never leave it unattended.
Storage: Store tightly closed in a cool, dry place, away from heat and direct sunlight.
