Description
Tonka Bean oil is an absolute, extracted with a hexane-free solvent from the dried beans of Dipteryx odorata, sourced from Brazil. It has a rich, sweet, warm, caramel-like aroma with soft notes of vanilla and almond, and is a deep, lingering base note.
Its comforting, gourmand warmth is popular for creating a cosy, grounding atmosphere, and a drop or two alongside vanilla, lavender or citrus makes a lovely winter diffuser blend. As a base note it anchors a blend and helps the lighter notes last longer. It is naturally high in coumarin, which gives its soft, sweet character, so use it sparingly and well diluted.
- Rich, sweet, warm aroma with vanilla and almond notes
- Deep base note that anchors a blend and helps it last
- Popular for a cosy, comforting atmosphere in the cooler months
- Pairs beautifully with vanilla, lavender, bergamot and sandalwood
Blends well with: Benzoin, bergamot, cedarwood, cinnamon, clary sage, jasmine, lavender, sandalwood and vanilla
